Most of us love solving puzzles, they are mysterious and interesting. People take pleasure in solving these puzzles. One of such in the recent era is Oak Island.
What can be a mysterious puzzle on an island? Some sort of treasures are buried in the island, but the interesting thing is no one has got more than a little bit.
Few coins here, a tool there, nothing very huge or pleasing. Or they might be?
To erase this interrogation and bring this curiosity to an end Lagina Brothers started joining these pieces in 1965 and it might be the start of an obsession.
Let’s unwrap this theory together, keep your work aside, and join us on the thrilling journey.
The Mystery Starts In 1804
In 1804 Onslow company put their foot in front, the company was established to search the island after one young boy found a big hole in the ground.
So, by that the team started digging the hole, cutting the layers of wood and charcoal on the ground.
Their hard work paid off when they found a unique stone tablet with something odd written on it and you won’t believe that for the next 62 years, no one would identify what this inscription said.
Finally, after years of dedication in 1866, a language professor from Halifax University decoded the message and concluded it was menacing.
The Acknowledgement of Curse In 1965
Now, the Lagina brothers are quite famous but at that time Rick Lagina was just a normal human being living an ordinary day when he read about Oak Island in an article named Reader’s Digest.
Where he got interested and found out about the cursed island in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The magazine stated that there is a treasure buried deep inside the ground of the island. The treasure that made many crazy and even died in search of it.
That was it for him, Rick’s imagination rapidly became an obsession. Till the day he was alive, his mission was to find buried treasure.
The Mystery of Curse is Revealed
The mystery of curses was solved when an unnamed professor declared the stone and said, “forty feet below, two million pounds are buried.”
There is no clarity if it is gold, silver, coins, or anything else and that’s not even the point to worry about.
The scary part is as per some search Oak Island, the island will only hand over the treasure when it receives seven dead bodies of humans.
Sounds a little awful right? Till today, six people have compensated their lives and multiple explorers have searched for the treasure and just made small discoveries.
Now, the question arises that after the last victim will the curse vanish and treasure will revealed?
About The Money Pit
When explorers started digging in search of treasure, they found something which is called a money pit.
Money pit was discovered when Onslow crossed almost 90 feet of putty, charcoal, and logs. Before they could continue digging the ditch was full of water.
With great dedication, they dug another pit to drain the water, but it too flooded. It doesn’t come to mind that something like this could happen.
Was it a dead fall? No success took place after this for straight 45 years.
A Small Victory
One company named Truro started digging at Oak Island in 1847. After drilling till the ground, they hit the reward.
They drilled through two boxes full of coins and also found three gold links which seemed to be from a chain.
It was quite evident that gold was not there. They continue searching for years in want of treasure but the Truro company fails in stopping water created by Onslow Company.
However, they gave up but the new explorer came with passion and drive in their eyes.
Where some willingly want to sacrifice their lives just to reveal the truth of treasure and become rich.
Time Passed, People Died, and Interest Remains
Time flew very fast, many explorers went to Oak Island to solve the mystery.
Even the company Triton Alliance from 1970 offered money and equipment for the search.
But still, no matter how deep we dug, we will only get minor pleasures like logs with Roman craving or any leather shoes.
With such de-motivation for the next 25 years, no explorer came to visit the island. Even the legitimate rights were in favor of the Triton Alliance.
Who stopped the process of digging and became busy resolving their own matters with each other.
After all these matters, the property went on sale in 2005 where Robert and Marty took the opportunity for hunting.
The Lagina Brothers Trying Their Luck Once Again
In the year 2005, a portion of Oak Island went for sale again but the prices were touching the skies. It was somewhere about seven million dollars.
Rick’s aim is very clear: he wants to discover the treasure buried at Oak Island.
This could sound strange, but at least it gives him a reason to smile, he has a purpose in life; a mission to accomplish.
Rick strongly believes that in spite of the confusion layering clarity,
“Every day gives you a feeling of actually turning the page of a good book.”
We hope that Rick never stops believing it. A happy ending is deserving after manifesting about the island daily.
A Harmful Obsession
In reward of treasure the island is demanding something very big, the curse will only be overcome when seven people sacrifice their lives.
With time, six people have lost their lives in search of treasure. Will Rick be the seventh? This thought is very creepy.
Don’t you think it’s too much? Like you are putting your life in danger for something which might be there or not.
Playing with your life is not a joke, this is truly an obsession. Such harmful obsession will manipulate your mind and make you do such activities that aren’t necessary.
One more explorer like Lagine Brothers, Daniel Blankenship visited the island 50 years ago and there is no trace of him.
He is holding his life in his palm and searching for the secret to be revealed. Why are people so obsessed with this? Because the treasure could be anything, this statement is enough for the explorer.
Is It Just A Wild Goose Chase?
In the past 220 years, nobody has discovered the buried treasure at Oak Island.
We can’t leave it like this: multiple people have invested many years of their life and few have sacrificed too. There is no smoke without fire, there must be something we are missing on.
People still wonder whether there is treasure buried or not? In this whole mystery, Oak Island is just a wild goose chase.
Barkhouse believes that there is possibility, but also says, “The belief that something is here attracts people.”
In the whole scenario, the Lagina brothers knew that they may be searching for nothing, but the discovery would be much bigger than money.
They wanted to resolve the mystery before anyone and wished to do it without becoming the seventh victim.
Let’s see what turns this story takes. Who will be the seventh victim? And will the Lagina brothers be able to solve the mystery?
